A simplified explanation of a domain name is when you consider a website name say www.bestcompany.com or a mail address like efficientguy@bestcompany.com .The part BESTCOMPANY.COM is what is referred to as the domain name.

A domain name is a name structure that uniquely identifies a collection of computers on a network on the Internet. You need not have a computer to have a domain name. But you will need a domain name to host a website or receive e-mail.

  1. Why do I need a domain name?

If you are thinking of hosting your company’s website or sending/receiving e-mail with your company name, you’ll need to register a domain name for yourself or your company.

Having your corporate domain name will give your business name the necessary corporate outlook it deserves.

  1. I already have a domain name registered with my ISP. Do I need to register a new one for this e-mail sign up?

 If you already have an existing domain name, you do not need a new one. Simply tell your ISP that you want your domain name transfer to ipNX.

  1. How do I transfer my domain name to you?

 Simply tell your ISP that you want your domain name transfer to ipNX. To avoid delay in the domain transfer, we suggest you tell your ISP to change the Administrative and Technical contact for your domain name to webservices@ipnxmediahosting.com .

This can be accomplised by sending a mail to your register. A template of such a mail is available below for download

The domain name transfer also automatically renews your domain name for another one year.

  1. How long does it take to transfer my domain to ipNX

The domain name transfer should take between 24-48 hours depending on the ISP we are transferring from and whether the Administrative contact for you domain name has been changed to webservices@ipnxmediahosting.com. However, if this can not been done, it will depend on how long it takes your ISP to respond to the transfer email request sent to them.

  1. How much does it cost to register a domain name with ipNX

Domain name registration costs N5, 000 per annum.

  1. I don’t have a domain name. How can I register one?

Visit our website www.ipnxmail.net and sign up for a domain name registration.

  1. I still want my ISP to host my domain name but I want to sign up for e-mail with ipNX

 We don’t recommend this, however it can be done. Ask your ISP to point your domain name name-server records to :

ns1.ipnxnigeria.net      62.173.32.83

ns2.ipnxnigeria.net      62.173.34.222

  1. How do I create additional E-mail Accounts?

Take the following steps:

  • Go to our home page (www.ipnxmail.net) and click on Customer Administrator Login.
  • Enter your Administrative e-mail e.g. abcd@xyz.com
  • Enter your password.
  • You are now logged into your administrative page.
  • Click on the Create New E-mail Accounts/Edit Plan Details.
  • On the E-mail account, click on the Add button and create the new account(s).
